I haven't done this for a while (flying VS UC on a Continental ticket...), BUT...

...can I assume that I can still use the VS Clubhouse at LHR? Also can I use the Cowshed and can I pre-book appointments (or not with a CO ticket?)?

Thanks,
Boo

Yes you can use the CH, you are on VS metal and will have a VS boarding card so all is fine.

Pretty certain you will be able to pre-book a treatment, just give them a call and see what they say, the number is in the Virgin Atlantic FAQ section on the left hand side.

Just got back from a quick trip booked in VS UC using CO miles. I phoned a week ahead to book a Cowshed treatment, no problem there at all. I wasn't able to check in online for the outbound (SFO-LHR) flight, but the ticket agent directed me to the lounge at SFO after handing me my boarding pass.

I was surprised to be able to check in online on the return flight (LHR-JFK). My printed boarding pass led me right through the separate UC security entrance and (after security) into the wonderful LHR Clubhouse. My Chowshed reservation had been honored as expected. All together a smooth process using CO miles.
