I have just experienced my first holiday with Cash Passport and I have mixed feelings. On one hand you have your cash contained on a card but on the other you need to find an ATM which accept VISA Electron cards not just VISA.

Additonally I was unaware that they also chareg you circa £2.75 per withdrawal, you can use it in shops, but again, they need to accept VISA Electron.

I probably wont get another card in the future and will just take the cash, I am currently trying to find an ATM in the uk to withdraw the outstanding funds.

Coincidentally I've just received my Barclays Travel Money Card which they offer in GBP, USD or Euro versions. This one is accepted at any VISA ATM or retailer who accepts VISA and the charges for use are the same as if you use a Debit Card.

Not entirely sure how useful it will be but thought it might give us the option of leaving all our other cards locked in the hotel safe and I can top it up easily with a quick phone call 24hrs a day.

The Lloyds TSB offering is a full VISA as well. However, not too sure how the charges compare between this and Barclays offering.
