Glad I caught this post, so I could add a little back story.
I flew on VS025 on July 20 from LHR-JFK on G-VSEA. The flight was delayed 2.5 hours due to 'technical issues.' However, when we boarded the plane, the captain informed us that our original equipment was unable to be ready in time and we had now received a new plane, G-VSEA(Plain Sailing), for our trip back to New York.
Makes me wonder if G-VSEA was our equipment all along, and the captain was just putting everyone at ease by saying we were on a different aircraft than the one with the initial technical issues. Or, it is just a coincidence.
As for the flight to JFK, other than the outdated Odyssey system, everything was great.

Slow leak on Cargo door seal - no big panic - ?VSEA a 'new' plane?! [:0]
The 'depressurisation' may not have even be noticeable except on instruments as the plane climbed above 10,000ft.
Nothing like the latest Qantas incident!
