Afternoon

Myself and the OH are off to SFO on Sunday. I'm already in UC, her in Y (B bucket so upgradable).

We'd hoped that G availability would open up in advance so I can up her to UC with my miles but sadly not.
So next best thing were were hoping for was to upgrade on the day.

That said, the flight looks very busy -

J3 D1 R1 Z0 W0 S0 K0 Y0 B0 L0 M0 Q0 X0 N0

So my concern was - if Y and W are overooked would that mean the remaining UC seats would be taken up with op-ups?

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Yes most likely - which means that people offering miles stand a good chance of getting them if they get in first :)

Right - have been op-upped only twice, at the gate at Heathrow. They should wait as long as possible to do this, especially with UC - unless you have a lot of Au passengers in PE, upgrading a PE passenger at check-in would entitle them to go to the lounge, presumably, so they will do it as late as possible. So, get in as soon as check-in opens, 6am, and upgrade. It is also not unheard of that they might make a couple of seats available for upgrade Saturday morning, so check and be ready to call flying club at the last minute.

On a separate note, hope you aren't planning on spending too much time in the city itself here, it's been foggy for the last four days, and doesn't look to be improving a whole lot. If you do, bring a jumper. Must have been HL leaving the city ... [;)]
