Just received a mail from Amex saying that they improved the transfer of miles to VS and that until 30th September any transfer will attract a 15% bonus. They point out that with the fare sale being 20% off until 30th September this means you can redeem as little as 31,500 membership reward points for an economy trip to NYC.

I also received the flyer. Sounds like a MR to FC transfer is almost instant now. Will have to try it.

Although it only took about 2 days before anyway.

Is there any special URL or anything for this? I've been in the US for 4 months with my post still being in the UK and would love to take advantage of this

ther's no special URL, just log into your Amex/MR account online and do the transfer as normal.

It sucks, I just transferred 14k a few weeks back and missed the bonus, just the way my luck is of late.

Apologies in advance.....

Do you get miles for doing a balance transfer? or is this thread just about the speed you get your credit card spend converted to VS FC miles as per normal?

Sorry again if the question sounds daft!

Not sure exactly what you are asking AC,

This thread is about the transfer of Membership Reward points from proper Amex cards (not the Virgin Atlantic pseudo version issued by MBNA) to your Flying Club account.

At the moment there is a bonus for transfers, but it doesn't apply to VS Amex card holders who get their monthly spend converted to Flying Club points automatically each month.

Hope this helps.

Yes Nick, that answers my question [y]. I had it in my head that this was about the VS card [:o)].

Thanks again,
