Revivals

We are taking our first UC reward flight home (from Nassau) via Miami in November. We don't have enough miles for UC on the way out sadly and anyway no availability.

As we're just on holiday, and not business, is it worth using Revivals since we'll be driving ourselves home afterwards? Are we even allowed to use it as we're on a reward flight?

You can use Revivals as long as you're in possession of an inbound Upper Class ticket - regardless of whether it's full fare, discounted or reward. You can also get in with a VS Gold Card (no guests).

Definitely worth popping into Revivals, even if only for a shower and a coffee after a long flight. Makes a big difference to how you feel on the way home from the airport [;)]

Yes u are allowed to use it, and since u are on holiday I probably would... Have a quick chower, some nice breakfast and then finish off the holiday with the drive home. I dont really rate the UC breakfast product (the bacon roll can be a bit hit and miss if your flying from US) and lets face it the coffee still isnt great so sleep in a bit more and have breakfast when u land...

Yes you can use Revivals on a reward. It is open to AU members and all travelling in Upper regarless of fare code.

Personally revivals is the highlight of the return. Long, hot shower followed by breakfast and even a treatment (if room) before heading home to a pile of bills. Perfect end to a trip. Revivals that is, not the bills.

Will do!

Sleep for longer inbound then decant into the revivals lounge for a shower, cleaning of teeth, pressing of clothing, cooked breakfast and the newspapers. Then, after an appropriate interval, head for home.

Skip breakfast on the plane - it's much nicer in Revivals. They'll even make you a nice cool smoothie.

The showers are pretty good.. I always make use. There's something not quite right about the ventilation though, as I often leave the shower room feeling hot/wet/sweaty.

Just went through it a few days ago, and especially when flying from the East coast it is well worth skipping breakfast. They have now started offering a 'full' breakfast until close, after the buffet trays are removed (they never did the last times I was there), which is nice if you are coming off a mid-morning flight. They also have back a couple of decent sarnies on the menu - they had been gone a while. The only nit (and it is a nit) is that the kitchen is not a full kitchen, and they don't really have much more than an airplane over on hand. Which means the eggs are a bit weirder than you would usually like (think microwaved scrambled eggs). Still way better than anything you will get on the plane, and all around a great space and atmosphere. Free wi-fi, too. I often connect through Heathrow on early afternoon flights, and definitely rate Revivals for passing 2/3 hours with some food, drink and to do some work.

Alas, yes, ventilation in the showers is less than ideal. The humidity piles up when you have a hot shower, nothing doing about it until they install some windows in the shower room [;)]

Or proper vents ....
