VS040 delay ex-ORD last night - any news why?

On another board someone wanted to know why VS040 was delayed out of ORD last night. Apparently his mother was due to fly on it, was put up in a hotel by VS, and he can't get any info out of anyone at LHR or the airline as to why there was a problem.

Since this is practically read by VS staff, if there anyone who can give us an idea?

I was on the inbound VS39 and when it landed it really came down hard at landing! Its possible it went tech because of this (plane was G-VHOL / Jetstreamer) and it was still on the ground being worked on when I left at around 7PM from ORD to head to Denver.

Tech gets my vote here, more worried if it was something other than problem from landing hard though seeing as I was on the inbound flight! The hard landing may just have been a coincidence.
