Just returned from my inaugural UC round trip (LHR - JFK). Very impressed apart from the champers running out before the seatbelt sign had come off and can happily echo the sentiments regarding the Clubhouses, checkin etc etc - all quite wonderful.
A little tale from Revivals. There we were, having a glass of fizz and a spot of breakfast and generally chatting to the staff, when a gentlemen at the next table pertaining to be a sort of Road Warrior started making a bad noise about there being no copies of the FT left. The young lady who he spoke to - who had actually finished her shift - explained that they have a limited allocation but perhaps he could buy one from WH Smiths? He was having none of this and inisted that they sent someone out for one. Which they did.
The arrival of said broadsheet neatly coincided with the manager of Revivals coming to my table and asking if it was my birthday (which it was). She then presented my with a bottle of Mumm Cordon Rouge to take home with me.
Oh, and I was delighted that our plane was called Tubular Belle.
