> Ryanair sincerely regrets that due to a strike by Boeing staff (our aircraft manufacturer), it has been necessary to cancel some flights departing between the 23/09/2008 to the 04/11/2008. Please see below for details of your flight(s) which has been cancelled.
>
> Please also advise any other passengers who may be travelling in your party of the cancellation of this booking.
>
> Please note that this flight booking will be automatically cancelled and all monies paid for the unused flights refunded within 7 working days. The refund will be processed back to the original form of payment used to pay for the booking.
>
> Ryanair again sincerely apologises for the inconvenience caused by this cancellation. This cancellation which is outside of the control of Ryanair falls under the extraordinary circumstances clause of Article 7 of EC Regulation 261/2004.

Yep, Boeing is shut down right now, FR were supposed to get 2 new aircraft and they they can't because of the strike, so they canceled a bunch of flights.

It's not like there aren't spare aircraft this weather... ;)

I wonder if FR will refund their exorbitant credit card fees?

I'm sure Ryanair claim everything falls under the extraordinary circumstances clause (which is actually Article 5.3). There's a real need for more litigation so we can get a better definition of what is extraordinary.

Once the winter schedule starts, November I think, there will be spare aircraft.
