Heard from the flight deck on this evening's EDI - STN charabanc outing...

'We'll be departing in an easterly direction, then turning back over the bridges to follow to M8 to Glasgow. Then we'll pick up the M74 to Carlisle, after which it's the M6 to Birmingham and then into Stansted...'

I wondered whether we were going to get a explanation that we were taking the A1123 to avoid the roadworks just outside Waitrose.

Anyone else heard other unusual routing descriptions ?

Yes.. on my Virgin flight back from Boston they said they'd be following the M4 to Heathrow...

It make more sense to give a routing that most people would know than to give the way points.
