Wouldn't at all be surprised if LH acquire SAS.

LH are one of the few airlines in this industry who are still in great shape, all things considered, and already have strong ties with SAS.

I wouldn't at all be surprised if we were to see LH take ownership or controlling stakes in SAS, Austrian and BMI in the coming year to eighteen months, to create a European super-carrier that would rival AF-KLM.

Even though such acquisition targets are already heavily code-shared and route de-duplicated, there's almost certainly opportunities for economies of scale for LH.

The thing is, with SAS it only takes one part of the company, say SAS Norway to say no and the whole deal is over.

LH are strongly tipped to take over Austrian as well. I also read Eithad will buy out BMI. Don't you just ove speculation.
