ok, polite answers only please [:D]

I've booked the Sheraton Heathrow Hotel the night before my Chicago trip, so I don't have to get up too early. So, I'm about to book Dot2dot to take me to the airport, and if I can't get them to drop me at the hotel, which terminal drop off area is closest for the Hoppa buses? Or are they all about the same schlepping distance?

TIA!

If dot to dot won't drop you on the Bath Road at your hotel, the next best thing is for them to drop you at the Central Bus station at LHR.

I wouldn't use the Hotel Hoppa though, get one of the many free buses that run up to the Bath Road.

Full details of the free bus service is here. (Clubhouse thread, so not accessible by all.)

Thanks. I did see the local buses were free, though I would worry I'd miss the Bath Road and end up at the end of the line, whilst still looking out the window for the hotel. [:I]

That is a quality thread title. I was having thoughts of a new *service* being offered at LHR for lonely businessmen!!

Nick is, once again, 100% right. Forget the Hoppa, it is a rip off, the local buses are so easy to use and of course, free! We have used them a couple of times before without any problems

Going off the map Nick posted in the Clubhouse thread you want the 75/76 bus and get off at either Hatch lane or Duke's Bridge (the latter looks slightly nearer to the Sheraton)

I also found this:

Public buses (routes 75 and 76) run from in front of the hotel to Heathrow central bus station about every 15 minutes. From Heathrow the Sheraton is on your right side of the bus, opposite a petrol station and McDonalds fast food outlet.

I'll be doing exactly the same for my ORD trip in November as I'm also over-nighting at the Sheraton too.

Thanks Mitchja, that's the kind of info that I need. That's the sort of thing that should be on the hotel web site (well, the bus number is, not the McDs or petrol station, that I could find). Makes me more confident that I'd get off at the right place! [:D]

Oh, and I also now know where I'll be eating that night!
