Off to LAS in April, UC. Flying from GLA to LHR to pick up the VS flight. Did I hear that the Amex Plat will get me in to the BMI lounge? Should I get in anyway with VS booked connections for an UC flight? Family are coming (wife + brat) - do they get in also? (Wifey has a Plat Amex, could order one for the 6 yr old I suppose!)

AMEX platinum cards allow access to BMI lounge's... [y]

You are not usually allowed a guest, which would be purely at the discression of the girls at the lounge reception. (My wife works for one of the BMI lounges and a 6-year old would probably be a [n] unless the lounge is quiet)...

UC tickets on a connecting flight does not allow access to BMI lounges, unless you are holding BMI business tickets...

Thanks Hamish. Oh well, I'm sure the Mrs and the boy will find some way to amuse themselves...

Bumped. Does Amex Plat get you access through Priority Pass, or is it another feature of the Amex card?

You only need the Amex card. Priority Pass isn't needed and wouldn't get access anyway.

Do you need to be flying BMI as well?

Hi,

For access to the bmi lounges with Amex Plat (UK issued) you need to be flying bmi.
