Hi,
Bit puzzled by this, I'm looking to book a return with SAS. All well and good, except the flight booked through flybmi.com works out over 100 cheaper than direct with flysas.com.

Any ideas why this might be?

Because airline pricing is crazy, it always pays to check the codeshare partners of an airline due to the different pricing that can happen. No idea why it does happen, but it does.

I had a little argument (me,go figure) on another forum last week about this very subject, I was informed that a code share will always be more expensive, this came from a TA as well [ii] who really should know better.

Indeed. Quite often, the CO codeshare for VS flights is cheaper than one booked direct.
