New IFE to be installed

BA announced that they will be installing a new AVOD system in their long haul fleet. As well as new screens other things to be added include USB ports and in seat power at every seat.

Indeed - it always amuses me that when a PAX travels PE they class themselves as a Premium PAX rather than an Economy one !

Surely the real Premium cabin on BA are CLub and FIRST (where fitted) and on VS Upper Class ?

And if they are going to hand out NC headsets, then it will certainly make for a more premium cabin.

And it all begs a question, what will VS do with all the planes on order ... VPort is excellent, but is now behind the curve ...

I was on Cathay a week ago on one of the 747s with the new seats and the AVOD was the best system I have experienced so far. VPort looked like an old looping system in comparison.
Not only was the content great, the menu system was so easy to use and the screens were incredibly sharp.
VS were a market leader with Vport but they need to innovate again now.

If vport is outdated, what does that say about Nova and Odyssey?!

Lets not forget that BA's AVOD is the most shockingly unstable system.I love it as it provides a never ending stream of service recovery miles[:D]
