Hi,
Im off to MCO on Friday, just dug out my passport and noticed that the Gold writing on the front cover has just about worn off - you can make out most words! Is anyone elses passport like this? I guess its just 8 years worth of handling! Do you think they will be funny about it? Hope not!

You should not have a problem - I'm just back from vegas and my passport is in exactly the same condition.

Make sure the passport is "machine readable" i.e. two rows of chevrons and letters at the bottom of the page with your picture on it - otherwise you will not be admitted to the US.

You can still enter the U.S. on a non-machine-readable passport until march or april or something. They are allowing a grace period of a few months, but after that you will be sent back!

This was ammusing...the other week my friend and i went to JFK, went to seperate immigration desks..both had oor passports stamped and went to baggage reclaim....and realised we had accidently used each others passports and no-one had noticed!!

I guess that wouldn't happen now as i have since been back and had my finger prints and photo taken.

We were very surpised no one noticed!
