As promised my return leg from MBJ, started very well with our private transfer and a well informed guide who gave us some really interesting facts about his homeland. When we arrived at the airport it was well signed and check in did have an Upper Class section. When we arrived in this section the attendant had seen us but still called a 2 people from the Premium line but not too bothered.

While the girls went shopping myself and my friend headed for the Air Jamacia Lounge, okay its not LHR or LGW but its a room with drinks and a few snacks. One consolation Arsenal were playing on Setanta sports until we left.

Priority boarding was used to good effect until you go through the gate and yet again open all your hand luggage to the waiting customs. So because your first through all upper class were collared to open our bags.

Settled down for the flight and left around 20 mins late. after a lovely menu we heard over the tannoy that a woman had started to have a Ashma attack which worsenened during the flight. The captain turned the plane round and we diverted to Bermuda which took us around 1 hour.

Once we landed the woman was treated and the CC sugested she would not have made it to UK if we had not diverted,(hopefully she makes a full recovery). After 2 hours we were back in the air to be told the crew were cutting down service so that the crew would not run out of hours which we all were in agreement on the plane. We took off and had a new flight time of 6 hours arriving into LGW at 10.30 hrs the 26th Nov 08.

Overall the crew were magnificent not only in Upper but the whole crew, they kept us informed every step and credit where it is due well done.

My only bad point is arriving into LGW late i missed my LGW-MAN connection and had to pay for a new ticket as my Domestic ticket was a non refundable(but will work on a few letters to people).

Got to return to work now to save up for my next 'Turn Left' flight.

One thing about MBJ airport they do have a good selection of duty free shops compared to St Lucia, Antigua.

Thanks for the TR, Jurgen.

I agree that being kept informed during a delay / drama makes a massive difference. It is far more bearable when you know what is happening and why.

Thanks for the TR![y]

I agree that being informed about the situation, does make things easier about the delay.
