Greetings people - advice would be appreciated on best way of routing the above some time in January for a week. My requirements in a perfect world...

Flying Directly
===============
1
---------------
Fly Business
Earn BMI points
Upgrade from lower fare using miles

2
---------------
Fly Business
Use BMI Points (have enough for the 1.5 or 2x multiplier)

Flying Indirectly
=================
Plenty of BA and VS points so could do as pure reward but happy to pay PE and upgrade

Thanks in advance for your creativity :)

How about LON - YVR direct on AC under a BMI codeshare?

Or, LON - YVR direct with BA?

LON to YVR direct with BA would get my vote. Flew AC once and NEVER again.

I agree with Hackneyguy. AC's IFE is really poor.

Depends if you get one of the XM aircraft, if you get one of those you are golden.

They seem to be boasting of new IFE if I'm prepared to fly VIA another city.

in July this year, we did:
LHR-ORD VS
ORD-YYC-YVR-SFO all on AC, picking the flights specifically for their new IFE. (ACs booking engine kindly highlights the good flights!)

Used my BD*G with the AC flights for lounge and miles (and got op-ups/exit row for no additional charge, etc)
