Emirates lie flat in business

Hey! I need help!

I am planning a trip to the Far East with Emirates in Business but am baffled by the Emirates website as to which 777 aircraft have lie flat beds in business. I can see that the A380 and some 77W/777-300ER do, but what about the 773 or 772?

Any tips would be appreciated!

Ok from what I am reading the 773 and 772 have angled lie flat seats...

EK have such a range of product that if you thought consistency was an issue with VS, EK have elevated it to an art form! Even on flights from London there are at least four business class layouts / seat types.

It is not 100% reliable, but there if you follow the 'Flying with Emirates' menu link on the Emirates home page, you'll see a 'Services by Flight' option. Enter some sample flight numbers for your route and see what it says. Problem is though, EK substitute planes LRandC which makes it unreliable but I'd say there's still a high chance you'll get what it shows.

Rule of thumb with B77W (B777-300ER) would be going for a three class (LD) aircraft gets lie flat in J. The two class (HD) don't have lie flat in J (yet) on any aircraft. As for the B772/B773 a couple have had cabin re-fits & offer lie flat J, but luckily most have been fitted out with the ICE (Panasonic 3000) IFE system.

I flew DXB-SIN-MEL in J on an EK 777 in September 08.

The seats were definitely not lie flat (or any where near it) in fact any kind of reclining crushed my feet between the foot rest and the seat back in front. The IFE was armrest stowed screens with video players (and mine was broken - cc retrieved cassette with a knife) - don't panic it was a plastic knife as it was on the SIN-MEL sector. I was also in the back row in J and apparently a thin piece of fabric is suffucient sound proofing between J and Y and the conveniently located basinets. Much better to be in the smaller cabin in the front section if possible.

However the crew and service were excellent.

Indeed she wasn't. The colleague I was travelling with said he had always had lie flat on that flight previously. I must be the jinxed one.
