After a cheeky 3 night trip to LAS it was time to return to cold and damp blighty, the weather in LAS had been a pleasant 16 degrees which to us brits requires hot pants and t-shirt attire[8D].

Check out for the Bellagio was 12.00 and for some reason this turned into a long drawn out affair (no fast track check out in process for some reason). As the time was approaching 13.00 we decided to set sail for the airport.

A straight forward and quick taxi journey to the airport ensued and once inside the terminal a couple of chatty security chaps asked the usual questions and sent us on our way.

Having checked in online we collected our boarding passes and then headed upstairs to security. The queue was short and no blowy air thingy for me this time.

Once through security we settled into some comfy seats in the only airside watering hole. After a few beverages the shopping bug took hold so we popped into the duty free shop to pick up the usual fragrances and some refreshments for the outlaws. Walked around the gift/newsagents shop which didn't take long, Terminal 2 is brilliant on arrival but somewhat lacking facilities on departure.

The incoming flight had arrived early and I was glad to see it was Ladybird so Odyssey would again be the in-flight entertainment. (How sad is it when you are praying for Odyssey)

Priority boarding worked well, and we were soon settled into 80 H&K upstairs. Champers/sparkling wine & Juice arrived quickly and refills dispensed as required.

The FSM made some amusing announcements and was clearly enthusiastic about providing a quality service. The FSM was visible throughout the flight and happy to help with drink orders or questions. UC/PE was full but a light load in economy, total load was a little over 200. It is visible that Las Vegas has started to suffer from the credit crunch not only on the flights but also in the hotels.

The captain advised a flight time of 9 hours and 16 mins with an unusual routing of over scenic Chicago in lieu of the nothingness of the north. Flight deck and FSM pointed out areas of interest (I.E grand canyon etc) shortly after take off.

Dinner was Chicken with BBQ sauce, Saut_ed shrimp & vegetable Lasagne. Better than the outbound flight and was surprisingly filling.

The cabin was cleared quickly and the lights dimmed soon after the half pint of baileys dispensed by the crew[:$]. (Thats the good thing about 80H&K is you get the left overs). Fired up the IPOD and set a course for channel 22 (sky map) and settled down to a relaxing flight.

Managed to get a few hours sleeps but the flight was very bumpy with the seat belt signs on for most of the flight. I do in fact remember seeing our ground speed at over 600 mph at one point which I think is a first for me. I actually dont mind the turbulence but I can imagine some of the passengers who dont enjoy flying were hanging on by their finger nails.

Breakfast was offered about 1.5 hours before landing. It was a either a croissant or hot filled muffin with cheese, sausage and egg. Fruit was also available.

Landing was smooth and after a slow taxi we arrived at the gate.

Once the seat belt signs were turned off we joined in the Priority disembarkation scrum, through security quickly (usual cheery happy faces) and our cases were chilling out on the baggage belt by the time we arrived[y].

Again another good flight with excellent crew, looking forward to booking a SFO jaunt in UC given the recent successful flights.
