SQ today received their first A330. Aircraft does not officially go into service until March. I believe it will be operating shorter hops around South East Asia and possible to places like Perth and some Indian Cities.

Many on here will be familiar with old regional J seat SQ had. The new seat seems excellent given the kind of routes it will be operating on. From the pictures there are similarities with the new J seat on the 380/77W's. Pictures can be seen here courtesy of a poster on SQ Talk.

I certainly believe that SQ are once again pushing the boundaries of what people expect from an airline, especially given what European carriers offer as their J product for mid length flights.

Surprised it's got that awful non-focused reading light, as was originally fitted to the UCS.

They just splatter light all over the cabin, and are probably a tad too bright. A design misfire if ever there was one.

Otherwise, yep, seems decent. Looks more like most other carrier's long-haul J seats.

The A330 is for Singapore - Japan/Australia so I guess that is almost verging on long haul distances. Plus, on the Australia route it'll be up against true longhaul carriers such as Qantas.

That's a lot of beige.... I hope that they change colours!
