The reported loss on Tanqueray No10 is a major blow to the gin-enjoying V-Flyer.

I implore VS to rethink this diabolical plot and return the green bottle to its rightful place and remove the imposter.

Who is with me???

It isn't really a cut as it is being replaced by a better drink - Akvinta Vodka! [y][}:)][:X]

Fine, if you are a vodka drinker. I'm not.

I have spent the last couple of months salivating at the thought of my T10 and tonic in July (sad, I know!) only to find it is no more. [:#]

Not being a gin drinker, how different are Bombay Sapphire and T10?

I do like them both love Bombay straight up ice cold, but it has a perfumed taste, 10 is a lot cleaner.

I can honestly say though that when asking customers onboard which gin they would like when they order a G+T, 9 out of 10 of them ask for Bombay Sapphire.

I still don't get the point of replacing a Gin product, with a Vodka product. Though it does appear to have worked with replacing food with sh*t.

Do they actually know that T10 is onboard though?

This last cut really feels cheap to me. Why replace a Gin with a Vodka too? As HL says, you don't necessary like Vodka just because you drink gin. I wonder if the Vodka is being paid for as a promo?

And there was me with illusions of a full bottle of JD coming back onto flights sometime soon. [:)]

Thanks,
Sarah

As long as JD is still on board life is good, if I have to rough it Bacardi, gin is a second to last thing, the last being vodka, I love vodka, it hates me, well no, it loves me as well, it just does something where I want to start fighting people.....And frankly, I am to old for the sh*t now.

Well I've always asked 'Which gin would you like: Bombay Sapphire or T10?' So yes, they do know that there were two different gins available.

I know that there was a big fuss made over the Akvinta Vodka in the Clubhouse recently - so the change could be off the back of that.

Was that when Grey Goose was replaced?

T10 does have a more low-key presence than Bombay so many may not have tried it. At least it isn't Gordons.

I noticed on my last flight that if you asked for 'Gin & Tonic', they would by default use Bombay Sapphire (I watched the crew member pour it). If you asked what gin they had, they would give you the two options, then use the gin of your choice.

Maybe Bombay Sapphire is considerably cheaper to VS - they do flog it on the duty free cart too, so they have probably got a good deal on it.

Possibly. In my book, if you say you want a G&T, a good bartender should ask which Gin you want. Unlike a certain A$$ at the Winships in Sausilito..

Me [:(!][:(!][:(!].I've obviously missed something[:(!].Is this really true?If so, bugger, bugger, bugger. I cannot abide vodka ordinarily (Bloody Marys excepted). It was bad enough having to take your own limes on board but now I'm going to have to raid the duty free as well[V][V]. And there was me looking forward to 4 weeks tomorrow, safe in the knowledge that when (not if)they ran out of champagne I'd have something else palatable to quaff.

Aren't a lot of the drinks given to VS for free anyway, to promote their brands?

No Ten? [n][n][n][n][n][n]

As for the difference between Bombay Sapphire and Ten, one is paint stripper, the other is gin.

I can't drink Sapphire, it rips my stomach up something rotten.

Very unhappy, and not looking forward to VS19 next Tuesday quite so much anymore...

DL

DL, it was reported here by virginboy747 but wisely, after the initial shock, Darren started this new thread.

Like you I was looking forward to six weeks tomorrow and my T10&T with lime and I cannot understand the logic that replaces gin with vodka [?]

I'm just waiting for the outburst from mdvipond when he hears about this [}:)]

Thank you HL.By the way, by my reckoning it's five weeks not six [:D].I await mdvipond's eloquent rant with great anticipation (for we know it shall happen [}:)]).

Thank you, DL. You are of course correct. Five weeks is to my VS flight. The six weeks came about because of an email to dear friends who I will be visiting in exactly six weeks time.

Still, without the T10 & T it isn't going to be the same [:(]

Well seeing as he should be in the air by now I would not be surprised to see something written tomorrow.
