Facebook page is back, but it feels like it's been edited.

I'm wondering if one of Dave's comments was removed, or if I'm imagining it?

It's pretty obvious they are getting the Akvinta stuff for next to nothing, and VS have done the deal with Akvinta because the OK and Heat reading masses down in Crawley perceive Akvinta as 'trendy' because of the sort of events it's sponsors (i.e. zeleb parties).

Maybe in VS' eyes, Ten is just a drink for old fuddy-duddies, and expensive at that, so needed to be squashed. Maybe these old fuddy-duddies, who have these ridiculously high expectations, will go and fly somewhere else now, so VS can only have young and beautiful people on their aeroplanes?

His Grace is prescient; Her Royal Highness The Princess Margaret has indeed resurrected and she was sitting here with me, only a few moments ago.

Her stories about Group Captain Townsend were side-splitting. And the one about Roddy Llewellyn gave me fits. Don't even ask me about her confidences regarding Lord Snowdon: I spat my T10 into the air laughing when she regaled me with those japes.

Alas, she's returned to the dead only the last five minutes ago. I love the reanimated dead.

RIP, Your Royal Highness.

No, you're right. Dave's comment, which was mdvipond's post here on V-flyer, has been removed.

Jeez... just how uptight do you have to be to start censoring comments on Facebook...?

VS deleting comments they don't like on Facebook is nothing new. They have done it to me quite a few times; when I have pointed out that things they have posted are wrong, or when I have made a comment about sale fares being pretty unimpressive.

The cynic in me thinks that it is part of the whole 'rose tinted' world certain people at VS want to live in. If they delete (or ignore) constructive criticism, then they can tell the suits upstairs that everything in the garden is rosy, and all the passengers are happy. [:w]

I am sure that isn't really the case though. [}:)]

The T10 is still there at present, as a new bottle was opened for me on Thursday. The crew member stated she had read that it would be gone by the end of the month.

It disappears on 1st July.

Why name a date to stop serving, wouldn't it make more sense just to wait until it runs out?
If they insist on making this ridiculous decision they could offload all the remaining bottles in stock after 1st July to VFlyer and we can have have a ' Realease the T10' Summer Party in the B&ES. [:D]

Not sure if this is a sign of getting old or not...

I have actually put cursor to paper and written a proper letter to go to SRB and SR. It doesn't just cover the T10 removal but the whole degradation of services we have seen in person and on here. Both going to Crawley marked 'private and confidential'. Hopefully will be read by the intended eyes.

I don't know anyone who drinks Gordon's...it's like paint thinner.

Mrs buns prefers the 'export strength' Gordon's (as available on VS flights) over Booth's Gin, but of course is still coming to terms with the demise of Tanquery both the T10 variety and the availability of the normal Tanquery stuff being available through the duty free[n][n]

Doesn't normally stop her drinking whatever is available though[:w]

Don't want to hijack a serious topic being a non Gin drinker, but will support you all in your endeavours.

Makes me wonder what Rum is served in UC, am guessing nothing more than Bacardi, but a decent dark rum like Mountgay would be a nice surprise. Secondly, being connoisseurs of the Mojito which rum do you recommend for it??

For me? It has to be Havana Club.

Bacardi is usually used in bars for a Mojito, sometimes the nice brown 8 year old stuff. For home mixing I'd go with Cruzan Estate or Havana Club. [:)]

Thanks,

...and they have regular Barcardi, Barcardi Oro, and Bacardi 8-year at the CH.

Bacardi ? An imperialist yankee running dog lackey of a rum. Havana Club every time.

I've received a reply to my letter from the Director of Product and Service. While it does appear that the T10 has gone for the foreseeable future, there is acknowledgement that there are areas that need to be improved.

Overall, I feel my letter was fully read and my concerns understood. It certainly wasn't a 'boiler-plate' reply.
