Saddly as PayPal dont allow accounts from Antigua I have been unable to send a few dollars V-Flyers way for a red kit...

Are there alternative Credit Card payment methods or I could fed-ex you a couple of litres of Goat Water perhaps?

Hmmm... the Goat Water sounds attractive, but failing that, perhaps you can PM me details of the best way to do it, since you probably have far greater experience of how to do it than I. [;)]

Maybe a stupid question, but the luggage tags have three lines of personalisation, however there's only space for two on the order form. Is the name field taken from somewhere else, or do you squeeze three lines into two, specifying how you want your name to appear? [:#]

TIA, Mike. (About to order a silver kit, hoping it'll go nicely with my luggage for my next trip!) [8D]

Hi Mike,

The first line would normally be your full name as provided by PayPal, unless it's specified as something else. If you have any special requests on how to format the card, then you can use the special message in PayPal. Normally the first line has to be a name, otherwise my database croaks, but other than that it's pretty flexible; space permitting.

My Silver kit arrived today, thanks Pix [oo] It does indeed go well with my luggage!

How do I get my thing on the left to turn silver though? [?]

Hi Locotus,

There are two 'thingys' actually ...

The avatar to the left of your name (the red Flying Club card) is meant to reflect your current Flying Club membership level, not your member level in VFlyer. Should you currently be, or if you become a Silver or Gold FC member, simply go to your member Profile and input the new FC number you'll receive and presto, your card avatar will change.

The other 'thingy', of course, is the VFlyer membership level indicator which appears just below your 'RR' number. That will be changed by our esteemed master, Pix, or one of our very capable administrators.

Many thanks for your continued participation.

Regards,
Chuck-

Welcome to V-Flyer BelfastFlyer [:D] I think you just need to wait till pixuk updates the details, then you'll get access. I'm sure he'll be along soon! (unless another friendly admin can do it?)

Hi guys,

Just paid for my membership. Do you know how long it takes. Seems the direct marketing campaign worked. Is the first marketing, albeit within v-flyer, that has happened? [:D]

Normally takes a couple of days to get your kit out to you, weekends and Royal Mail permitting. Unless I'm on a VS flight somewhere [;)], I generally make up the kits the morning after I get the order and then drop them in the post at lunctime. Sometimes this plan can go out of the window if I have to do on-site work as part of my real job, but generally, you get the plastic in your hands in a couple of days.

Pete

p.s. Yes, I think this is the first direct marketing, and interestingly enough it was organised and implemented by the members rather than the admin team [;)]

What marketing are you referring to, is it the new additions to most poeples posts pointing you to the membership pages? Or was there something else I missed?

All non members recieved an email saying whay they hadn't subscibed. It wasnt pushy. It was just a not saying that websites are not free and that all contributions are welcome.

Just a few words from me, as i was one of the people involved in the 'marketing campaign' - not that we touted it like that.

Yes, a number (not all, but a number) of non-members, who it was felt had made a contribution to the board (both giving and recieving) were sent messages asking whether they were aware of the membership of V Flyer, and if so, why they had not joined. It wasnt directed to push people at joining (but obviously, its a bonus if they did due to the ever present running costs that are associated with keeping the forum going!) These non-members were invited to give their thoughts on the forum as a whole and the idea of membership, and if they did not want to join, any reasons behind that choice.

Im collating feedback as we speak, a few interesting and valid points have been raised which im sure can go towards improving the site for everyones benefit.

If anyone has any suggestions for improvement i would encourage all to voice them. A communities strength lies in the sum of its members, so dont be shy ... [:D]

Newbie here. I am a Macintosh user, downloade V-Tool and paid for a membership but the darn thing will not activate. I enter my name and the V-Flyer Membership number I was given at signup but keep being told it's an 'invalid entry'. Any suggestions would be welcom. thanks!

Hi Cinthia, Congrats on becoming a member [:D]

As for V-Tool, the quote from Pixuk about it is 'The servers that provided the free availability data to the back end of the V-Tool have gone 'off air'.' [:(]

Have a look at the Expertflyer.com forum. You get 20 free queries as a member of this site, which hopefully will let you find what you need. You will need to be loged in for the username and password to appear.

Or failing that, ask in one of the relevant sections here, normally someone knowledgeable comes along soon enough - though they are like buses, you wait 5 mins for a reply then 3 people reply all at once [y]

Hi Cinthia,

I'd check where you sent your money, as it doesn't appear to have been sent to me, nor have I generated a V-Flyer membership number for you. If someone has 'hijacked' the V-Tool and using it as a way to phish for money, I'd like to know about it.

Pete

p.s. Another Macintosh user here too.
