Now thats what I call a celeb!

A friend of mine, had Jay Kay, Green Day and Matt Lucas all on his VS flight to LAX. Im sure if I met Matt Lucas I wouldnt be able to hold back the little britain impressions.... "yer i know!" It must a strange feeling, flicking through V:PORT and seeing one of your own programmes!

Yes, my friend flew back from JFK with Ricky Gervais and Stelios (Easyjet chap), and sure enough The Office was on V:Port :)

Thanks,
Richard

2003 I was rounding the entertainment area LHR (That used to have the cool Stereo) and looked over to my left to see Robert Englund aka Freddy Krueger. We nodded to each other. Needless to say I did a double take, smiled as my heart started pounding, and joked with my Wife I would not be falling asleep on the flight.

Not sure I'd like to be sitting next to him on an overnight flight.

Quite an old one I'm afraid and another BA flight, but in May 99 we shared a flight to Barbados with Prince Philip and entourage.

They took over the whole of upstairs so we didn't get our honeymoon upgrade[:(]!

They hadn't told anyone on the plane, we only found out a few days later, so we got a bit worried when the plane landed and was immediately circled by the entire Barbados army in full uniform..... Also noticed that the announcements and service weren't as polite on the way back ;)

Surely you can't be serious?

You've started me off now jaguar. I'll stop now. Could be here all day.

I'm not that good when I meet anyone even vaguely famous. I can't talk to them and feel like a bit of a [:o)] if I keep staring. Now if I saw Liz Hurley or the like on my LA flight later this year, I'd be quite happy;) I'm so excited about travelling in UC. "Is this your first time?". No. I've been excited before. Ok enough already[B)]

Don't! You'll get chefknife started again....

He sat next to Liz on a flight and discussed the merits of Viagra if I recall... and then there was the conversation with Ralph Lauren on Concorde about mens toilet etiquette. Good grief! :)

Thanks,
Richard

Minnie Driver on VS046 JFK - LHR on 8th April. Sat in 3k, snooze zone upper class. Used a sleep suit, but I didn't try to found out whether she could look good in one!

Jeremy Beadle is in the LAX lounge right now with his wife on VS8 (same as me). I have been on other flights with celebs but never met any (that I know anyway - I am terrible at recognising people!)

No one recently but I shared the IAD clubhouse with George and Barbara Bush a couple of years back (and about 20 secret service agents !). They were apparently using the lounge whilst making a US domestic transfer.

I also (literally) bumped into Winnie Mandella last year at LHR ( at the blind corner just past the VT salon).

On one trip to CPT I had Daniel Radcliffe going out - sat almost opposite and on the return flight Anthony Warrell Thomson was at the front of the J cabin and I was in 8! Although, I'm not sure that qualifies for celebrity status!:D

Cheers,

we met joe cole at check in (when he played for west ham) in 2000
and as we were waiting to board the plane (to mco) we met kevin phillips..(southampton) we spoke to both of them lovely down to earth blokes....:D

I met Joe here in Seattle when chelsea played Celtic earlier this year in exhibition and thanked him for all he'd done for West Ham. He was really cool and sincerely thanked me back. I'm not surprised to hear he was down-to-earth...he works really hard (but I don't support his side unfortunately!).

It's been a while since we had any updates to this topic so I thought I'd tell you about my last trip to LAX when Paul Weller was sat in front of me on the plane. Nice bloke and signed a copy of the NME and wrote a message for my mate who's 40th it was later that month. (I bought my mate a few pressies but the NME was his most treasured - he used to have a cat called Weller when he was younger :))

Saw John Kerry in the Washington Clubhouse on the 9 Jan and shared the flight back to Heathrow...though they had to do a bit of seat shuffling to get him and his companions seated together
