It was real? My friend who's abroad in London sent me a message saying she just felt an earthquake and I thought she was drunk...

It was actually 5.4 they are saying now, and it was big enough I tell you.....

That's not what the ladies tell me [:I]

It didn't itself wake me up but my daughter wandering into the room saying 'that was an earthquake' did.

I felt the earthquake here in Wigan too.

Thought I was dreaming it as I was in a dream at first, until my mate picked me pu this morning and said 'did you feel the earthquake last night?'

So, Neil. Is your house still standing? [:P]

Bored? It's a major event for us in Hull, local news programmes are having a field day with it. I must admit I am a bit bored of it now, but it was bloody scary, being only 25miles or so from it we really felt it and at 1am when I was quite happily dreaming about Danny Dyer and my Plat card it was a bit shock to the system....

Tell you what - this is PATHETIC.

Seriously, listening to the news today in the car, again and again and again, you'd think we'd experienced a catastrophic tsunami, or a CAT XXX Hurricane (or at LEAST a 9+ Earthquake) from the way they're going on. [n]

'The biggest quake in 25 years' - that's because the UK doesn't HAVE significan seismic activity. ONE person got injured, CHIMNEY POTS got 'damaged' - that's it - b****y chimney pots [:0]. '£10m of damage to 'rebuild towns'? - Oh come ON... [ii]

JEEEEEZ, get over it Sky/BBC/ITV/General Public.

We're making ourselves look ridiculous, to say the least, and this makes a complete mockery of REAL disasters where they occur elsewhere. [V]

Have to agree with Paul here. In some countries earthquakes are a regular occurrence (Japan, et al) but it was like the UK stopped today over this small incident. Not to mention where they get these people from that appear on the radio with their tales of hardship and woe ...
