Yes I think so. Remember back in the 2nd episode when they contacted the helicopter and asked to fire the rocket to the island. The two stopwatches were out of time.

Don't forget that there is a relationship between Jack and Aaron - we're not sure yet whether he knows it but the audience has certainly been told. This relationship should allow Jack to see past any indescretions. Like you said - maybe he is scared of him?

Well that was one of the most confusing episodes ever BUT, when you look back at it things start to make sense.

I'm sure you all watch different programs to me. Going back to Kate's trial, there was no reference to time elapsed since coming off the Island. Sawyer/Kate's scene painstakingly made it clear that they had slept together and Kate had a pregnancy scare.

So here is a possible take on the story!

To get back at Sawyer Kate tells him she isn't pregnant when really she is
Jack knows that Kate has had a child by Sawyer which is why he cannot face the child (as he 'loves' Kate)
Kate simply liked the name Aaron and named her child after Clair's

There is no real way of telling how long after the return the trial took place so in fact Kate could have become pregnant, even by Jack, after the return. I don't think it is unusual for trials to take a year or more to get to court. In fact I can't remember exactly when Kate visited her Mother but that was when she found out she was dying, and her mother stated at the trial that the Drs had given her 6 months to live 2 years ago, so 2 years may have elapsed since Kate saw her Mother before the crash.

I was assuming that the trial took place before the flash forward events of 'Through the Looking Glass'. Jack by this time was a wreck - drinking heavily and travelling on aircraft in the hope of crashing and getting back to the island - even trying to convince Kate they should return. This was April 2007 (based on the newspaper clipping) - so at most only 2.5 years had elapsed since the crash - not time enough for rescue, pregnancy and a talking child. I know Jack could have recovered but I'm betting that the events of the trial took place before this.

I think you make an assumption with 'talking child'. We never witness the child talking and I know there was a reference to putting the child on stand, but maybe that was just to show the court that she was a mother with a young child.

Think you must have missed it. He distinctly says 'Hi Mommy' at the end of the episode when Kate arrives home. Hardly the complete works of Shakespeare but not the mutterings of a 9 month old either. Well the mechanical sounding protection system was back last night and signaled the arrival of Arnold's wife. Maybe the writers of Lost are reading your posts [;)].

I enjoyed last nights spring back, it was nice after 7 spring forwards to go in the other direction for a while.

What I am personally excited about is the whole relationship surrounding Widmore, Ben, Desmond etc. Remember that Desmond ended up on the island courtesy of Widmore. And of course Widmore purchased that 19th century book the other week, which perhaps has some clues to the island.
