As a Liverpool fan it pains me to say this but the best team in Europe this year won. So hats off to the mancs.

Chelsea very unlucky really and such a cruel way to end the game, especially as he slipped. But thats life.

The real issue for me is how much the game was degraded tonight. It was awful, players diving left right and centre, harassing of the referee, clear lack of respect for the red card system by certain players etc.

Some may say it doesn't matter but it does. I wonder how many people will get in a fight this evening due to be drunk and angry about the red card etc. And how many kids will turn round to the ref and say 'well drogba does it' or 'rooney does it' and so on.

Anyway was a great game just a shame it had to be decided on pens.

What a total tool Drogba was, a big physcial centre forward getting sent off for a petulant slap like that, daft or what! To be honest i don't think too many players will feel that they played well last night. For Chelsea i'd say only Cech, Terry (terrible luck for the pen), Carvalho, Essien (2nd half) and Lampard played to their ability. For Man Utd probably Van Der Sar (must be replaced next season), Ferdinand, Vidic and Hargreaves. The so called 'big game players' really failed to turn up. Rooney, Ronaldo (except easy goal), Scholes, Ballack, Malouda, Drogba, J Cole, Carrick all had very mediocre games and Ronaldo is probably the most relieved man on the planet after that daft pen!

To be fair though over the season Man Utd have been the best side so fair play to them.

I know that feeling...... ( 3-0 down at half-time, and then 6 minutes of madness in Istanbul, etc. etc.). My internal organs were out side the house!!

Your not kidding! I famously said at half time the players should just not come out for the second half. How glad was I that they did.

Not wishing to hijack but the press are a forgetful bunch they keep saying last nights final was the best ever. Sorry I think Istanbul was with this one a close 2nd.
