We one got the receptionist at work to put out a tannoy call for Dick Pullar. This was in my less genteel youth. I'd probably opt for something like Pat MacGroyne now.

Also my friend is married to Iver Maciver although she's seperated from him (I see a theme emerging).

And I'll get on my trip report, but I've got a date with a pile of ironing and a large glass of wine right now.

For years, my cousin used to call me at work and when asked who was calling he would give his name as a Mr. Meehoff. First name, Jack. He never got tired of that one, though our dim witted receptionist didnt seem to get it.

Thanks,
Sarah

I think I have been away too long. I still don't get it [:I]

I went to school with someone named Something Wayne Kerr. I'm not sure if I ever knew his first name or if I just forgot. We certainly never used it, that's for sure!

Had a boy in my class at secondary school called Billy Shone which isn't funny in itself until we found out his grandfather was called Eric.

We have an employee in one of our Asian offices called Fanny Fang. Noticed her name in the GAL a few months ago and had to do a double take!

Thanks,
Sarah

I got a book for christmas last year called: Potty Fartwell & Knob- Extraordinary But True Names Of british People by Russell Ash. It is a real scream, here are a few examples. These names are totally genuine BTW

Fanny Strain [:0]
Fanny Tingle [}:)]
Fanny Pounder [:D]
Fanny Lather [y]

Others Include

Dick Muncher
Sarah Swallows [:w]
Rebecca Suckit
Dick Handler
Willy Stroker

I kid you not, these are totally genuine names. All names have dates and places of birth which I have checked out on various census'. There are some really naughty ones too . If this sort of school boy humour appeals to you, get this book, you won't be disappointed!

The best one I ever saw was Orson Cart. Apparently the father was a big fan of Orson Wells and his son suffered the consequences.
