Well, well, always nice to see the Mancs drop two points....sorry GJ couldn't resist. Although knowing MUFC they will not drop a single point for the rest of the season now! I am sure MUFC are wanting CR back asap.

Chelsea very impressive against an average Pompey side.

My boys yet again struggled to overcome a side they should be putting a fair few behind.

Biggest congrats to Neil and his Hull side. What a steal Geo is and what a goal. You have done on the first day of the season what it took Derby months to do...win.

I am also rather happy that Man Utd were held to a draw. Would really like a bit more competition this year. I was very impressed with our (Aston Villa) result. A good win at home to a Man City team who looked to have a bit more fight about them. Can tell Mark Hughes has been influencing them!

No worries -- we earned a bit of stick by playing so foolishly yesterday!

Well I haven't seen this afternoons games yet but I am certainly breathing a sigh of relief.

One would imagine that Neil is rather happy with the 1-1 draw they got.

Spurs seem to be having the same problem as last year.

And if we didn't know it already, Chelsea really do just waste money...I mean selling him back to Milan at a loss.

Wow. Hull got beat 5-0. By Wigan. Man, that's embarrassing.

Could be worse, you could have had to sit through Villa v Liverpool like I did yesterday. Nearly lost the will to live!!

What a day yesterday was in the transfer market. Robinho to Man City, Berbatov to Man United, the most exciting end to the transfer window yet!

Oh, and also there was the sale of Man City yesterday to a very wealthy Middle Eastern businessman, with plans to battle for trophies in all competitions and splash out on whatever it takes. Chelsea should be very worried, especially when they had Robinho snatched from under their noses! [}:)]

Makes a nice change to see someone outside 'the big four' being able to compete financially. Hopefully this season will be the start of a more interesting Premier League that isn't dominated by the richest clubs.

But Dan MCFC will just become a member of the new Big Five.

The sooner LFC get DIC to come in with some money the better, we just cannot compete anymore.

So a week of amazing contrasts. MCFC get taken over and become the richest club in the world. And at the other end of the scale two English managers walk out because they cant adopt to the continental style of running a football club.

I certainly would not want to take the NUFC job, it is a curse, go there and your career is over! Interesting times indeed.

Oh come on ... this is about the equivalent of United beating Liverpool 1-0 in September 1983. Much as it pains me to admit it, there's only one way this is going to end ........

Go on the Tigers. Toon army in disaray. Funny how 99% of the board had prior commitments on Saturday and could not attend the game.

Indeed. Most probably to go into hiding to avoid being mobbed by disgruntled Geordie's.

I'm glad to see that whinging, self obsessed, trophy chasing tw*t go from Spurs. The only good thing out of the deal was that Man Utd couldn't force Spurs to drop their price (thanks to Man City!). Fergie is the most hypocritical whinger around, he moans about Real Madrid pursuit of Ronaldo and he does the same to Spurs.[V][V][V]

Anyway, hopefully 3 points tonight against Villa.

And you use 'whinge' in your post quite a bit. I gather you are intimately familiar with the term...
