The first time I saw an image of Palin, she was carrying a gun at some shooting range. It looked too much like the images the media portray of our alleged enemies. I also find her morality the 'in the name of God' thing quite distasteful, although I guess that's a common theme in America where it would be easier to be elected President if you were gay than if you were an atheist.

As Will says, McCain's too old for the job, but I can't say Obama is really exciting me either. Just a shame Hillary didn't get it.

Sadly I think that racism and possibly to a lesser extent sexism will play a part in this election especially if some of the comments we heard in an LA bar in July are anything to go by.

Some people are just not able to see beyond race, colour, creed or sex which will undoubtedly influence their choice.

Either way, anyone has to be better than the current incumbent.

Palin is the complete opposite of Clinton in terms of actual policy ideas. People who vote for McCain because of her somehow being a substitute for Clinton would be insane and they obviously aren't actually looking at the things she believes. I mean, she's pretty much against any form of women's rights for crying out loud, and even voted to not have equal pay for women. There seem to be a lot of bad qualities about her regarding her very limited political experience (I'm sorry, but mayor of a small Alaskan town doesn't count-my town has 3 times as more people and I certainly wouldn't trust our mayor with the vice-presidency let alone presidency) after being governor for less than two years and about stupid little power-obsessed things she did in that short term that taint her.

Regarding Obama's 'gaffs'; those were taken out of context and twisted by McCain (such as Obama criticizing McCain for saying the fundamentals of our economy are strong the morning of Monday's collapse with McCain coming back later saying that he meant the American workers and that Obama was criticizing them; workers are never referred to as economic fundamentals...). Karl Rove of all people said McCain's lies were getting out of control a few days ago.

I like Obama not only because he supports and has adequate knowledge of everything I stand for (civil rights for gay people, global warming prevention and energy independence, abortion choice rights, worker's rights, technological advancement, economy stabilization, etc.) but because I strongly believe that the McCain-Palin administration would not hesitate to go to war with Iran (and/or Russia based on Palin's recent interview), which scares the living daylights out of me.

As you can see I'm quite involved with this political season!

Well the idea that Sarah Palin could be VP scares me to death, picking her as the VP candidate seemed like a stroke of genius to me when it was announced, however as THIS shows, she is a puppet who is has no answers, lord knows what is going to happen when she has to debate Joe Biden.

Point being, he'll end up like all politicians, compromising to gain votes. I don't see Obama being any different and he's already flipflopping. That said, I was always a Hilary fan so schadenfraude is appropriate. Let's hope he wins come November though.

Now that doesn't inspire confidence at all. Rabbit-in-headlights mode on and spout the same thing over and over. I think living that far north has clearly rotted her brain.

Polls are showing that the novelty has worn off and the Democrats are pulling ahead.

45 days to go.
