Hi All,

I have just put some flights on hold in November 2005
VS17 out and VS18 back.

Now the VFlyer Db tells me that 100% of the time both of these flights are flown by an airbus of some kind (Mainly A340-600).

The premier team have just informed me that this will be a j2000 equiped airbus (so I assume it is a A340-300) on VS17 and a 747-400 on the return leg.

So I have 4 questions.
1) Does the VFlyer db work out its percentages from the last 3 months travel only
2) Do Virgin fly different aircraft in the winter months due to demand?
3) What are the chances of these aircraft being changed or being updgraded from j2000 to UCS before I fly.
4) Are all 346's now UCS?

Any other info on this route appreciated. I have flown this route many times but can't remember the last time I flew so late in the year.

The NY routes sometimes show as A340-300s but will almost always turn out to be a UCS -600.:)

Yes all 346's are now fitted with the UCS and I would imagine that you would be quite unlucky to get a 343 that has not been fiited with the suites by then :).

Just had a call from Virgin. They have changed the config of the outbound leg.

Still a 343 but now UCS :D. Looks like they are steaming ahead with the roll-out of the UCS on the 343s

I booked VS17 for October and was told A346 ... not sure if this helps you but i was sure this route was definately A346 serviced, so unless any ops guys here can tell us if there has been a change for the winter schedule, i would be pretty sure it will change to a 346 nearer the time.

Sarah,

Seems to be 346 right up until end of October. Now unless they change this, which they may well do, that was the reason for my original question at the start of this thread.
