In Neil's New Hull, the denizens of that fair city will be able to wear anything they like, as long as it's Burberry check. Or hooded.

Wolves, I'm with you. Next time I'm in England I almost feel required to pay a call to Humberside...

You, along with every other V-Flyer are more the welcome to come visit East Yorkshire, Humberside does not exist, and has not for over 10 years now!
I hope Neil will take us to see these badlands when we visit
Oh you will get the FULL guided tour of this great city, stab proof vests are free with the Gold tour package[:)]

Oh, Neil -- no need to be a churlish pedant. [:#] I look forward to my visit to Yeast Porkshite. Whilst there, though, I shall lay a wreath to the memory of Humberside.

So no more Humber bridge ???
Well dur, of course it is still called the Humber Bridge, it doesn't change it's name just because the county changes it's name.. It was Humberside when it was built, but Humberside was done away with 96/97!
No that makes no sense, if it was named after Humberside and Humberside changes it's name then it should be renamed the East Yorkshire bridge.

Well Hull logic dictates that it should now be the East Yorkshire river, not the Humber, so my argument still holds true...A strange conversation on here, never !
Of course, you also have to bear in mind that Hull isn't really called Hull - it's actually called Kingston...

Kingston upon Hull, makes it sound quite posh actually [:w]

Umm, actually Dave, the bridge links East Yorkshire and North Lincolnshire, so even the County argument doesn't stack up [;)]
In fact, when building work on the bridge started in 1972 (what a very good year that was [:D]), the East Riding of Yorkshire was still in existence - it was only abolished (with the West & North Ridings) when Humberside came into being in 1974 courtesy of the Local Government Act 1972.
Meanwhile, the good citizens of West & North Yorkshire await the reinstatement of the proper West and North Ridings with baited breath.....
Cheers
Michael
