As the end of the UC sale approaches, and assuming no extensions are made, I have four hours to make my decision.

Below are my thoughts about spending 341.00 per person upgrading from PE to UC. Which is a bargain, no argument from me there. But I have never spent that kind of money on a flight, so it's quite a big for me.

I can't upgrade the inbound only for some reason (I could up to two days ago, but I can do OUTBOUND or ROUND TRIP now)

PS - I couldn't see anywhere to post a poll in the General Discussion, apologies for placing this Off Topic.

None of the above - I would do it for the return journey - not bothered about the clubhouse as the bed would be the clincher for me in your position. (well you dont say where you are flying to OR from so I 'assume' the return may be a red eye ??)

It's Boston (mentioned in one of the poll choices - a 6 1/2 hour flight back home - overnight)

Neil mentioned that for that distance upgrading on the way back isn't worth it (I will have a PE seat for that) which is why I am thinking about the outbound. I can go to the airport at 9am... ;)

Plus VS won't let me upgrade my inbound only.

Well hidden away then !

I would do it on way home for the bed - wins hands down in my book

Go for it! Sounds like a bargain to me. I have recently converted from PE to UCS and will find it VERY difficult to ever go back! Be warned though, you will be hooked!

I'm sticking with my original, and saying go for PE both ways. Our last flight home ex BOS was actually under 6 hours, which just doesn't seem worth it to me. I think using the savings towards another short break (maybe NYC toward Xmas for some shopping) might be more preferable to your other half (I know it would be for mine)

We booked PE in the sale before the UC fares were available for our Washington trip in June and I was happy with that as it was going to be a cheap trip.

When the UC sale fares were released the upgrade cost was 850 one way or 1700 round trip for the 2 of us. Unfortunately the lure of the LHR Clubhouse and private security line proved too much and I upgraded the outbound flight with the thought that we can upgrade the inbound with miles if available.

Yes I've now fallen into the UC trap and can't see a way out.

I would do it! UC is a great way to travel but as others have warned you will be hooked and will not want to turn right again.....

YES. Do it 40%
NO. PE is fine 47%

It's close! So many good points about both options too!

I have gone for the Upper option with it being a relative bargain, slightly coloured by a recent good flight.

Not worth it IMHO on such a short flight.

Not my choice, but the 2nd best option in my opinion! Enjoy UC.
