GF is happy as her school (along with all Surrey schools) is shut

Oh the temptation to post something naughty is too much[}:)]

Quite so Iain. Will, you dog...

Tizer's school was open, but a little too awkward to get to this morning; so, snowman building was order of the day up here in God's Own County:

David - do be careful; Neilies are for The Boy and GJ to hand out, not mere mortals like you or I. Carry on like this and you'll have the unions on your back.

I am sorry Dr V, but Darren was way out of line and deserved the Neilies

On this occasion I will allow Mr Scrooge to use Neilies, as he has rightly stated, Darren was totally out of order and the only reply that could deal with the severity of it, required numerous Neilies.

Case dismissed

Thank you...how dare Darren belittle a snowman like that...shame on him.

Oh please don't tell me you didn't see that coming ?????

Anyways, back on topic.... is it as bad up North as it is in the south, all the news we are getting is concentrated on London.

Hmmm, taking an Off Topic back On Topic, is that not contradictory in some way[:?]

Anyway...over in the delightful part of the UK known as Hull, we have not really had much snow, a few cm over night but nothing really since, it is raining now but with some snow apparently forecast, fingers crossed it doesn't turn up, stupid weather has caused me no end of headaches today with work, grrrrrr.

I'm sorry. I'll go out tonight and make a snow angel as penance to said Frosty.

Well, apparently buses really were cancelled due to 'safety fears', and the decision made around midnight. Let me guess, they called up the drivers and told them not to bother coming in for the early shift. Then when it wasn't as bad as all that this morning, it was too late.

'Safety fears', eh? I'm surprised they didn't ban the gritters and all other traffic and have done with it. Oh, they didn't: in fact BoJo, applauding and encouraging those that drove in during the apparently dangerous conditions, lifted the congestion charge today.

And the only buses seen to be in toruble last night? Bendy ones.

Yellow Snow's been quiet recently: I wonder if there's been a run on diuretics at his local Boots.

Cheers, H

4' in North Leeds (not bragging..) and snowing still at 8.30pm although lighter, due for more.

local Primary was open, all little northern kids running round in T' shirts in play ground.
Little NH's nursery was open, some staff traveling from Bradford without crying, (mind you...)

Howard

Something tells me you are right here.

Walked past South Croydon Bus Garage this morning (on my way back from walking to East Croydon Station), to have to walk into the road because all the bus drivers cars were blocking the pavement[V][V][V][V]

The road you ask - yes totallt clear, no slow or slush

I will tell Boris a thing or two if he has the cheek to comment on my performance

From about 5,000 miles away Dave. As you were defending the snowman rather than Neil, don't you think you should have posted little frowning Frosties instead...?

From watching yesterday's TV coverage of 'The Big Snow' (as BBC Look North dramatically called it) I think we probably had it almost as bad in parts of Yorkshire as they did in London. However, whilst quite a lot of local schools were closed we did manage to keep our buses and trains running. But then we're a hardier breed up 'ere in t'North.

I mean, can anyone honestly resist a wry smile when a capital city's underground transit system snarls up because of snow?!?

I can. Because most of the underground is overground. As are all the depots.

Well, my BRS-BRU flight was cancelled this morning - due to the snow warning in effect for the UK (the inbound from BRU didn't take off), which is a great surprise since there's only been light snow in the Brizzle area this morning.

Amazing that the inbound flight arrived early and the outbound departed bang on time this morning, given that there was actual snow on the ground at BRS today - rather than a few flakes in the air yesterday [ii][ii]

Ah well, am safely in Brussels til Friday evening - looking at the forecast for the end of this week though, the return journey could be 'interesting'!

Cheers

Have fun in BRU Mike!

Its snowing right now where I am, and has been for the past half an hour. I have to drive to Manchester tomorrow morning so hopefully we dont get that much - or maybe I should hope we do so that everyone stays at home and I get a nice clean run [y]

Thanks,
Sarah
