Be interested to see whether anyone else has noticed? Previously, when upgrading with miles from say a K or W to G, you always had to prompt VS to post the miles and TPs for the original class. Now it appears to be being done automatically, another small but useful thing ticked off the to do list [y].

That is Good News[y][y]

Saves that call when you get back from a trip.

Now all that needs to be done is to pick up upgraded bookings on 'My Bookings'[:(!]

That is definitely a welcome change (it it lasts!) - I have frequently upgraded from Y to W, and less often to G and all bar once had to phone up and get the miles (the one time was quite a while ago, and no idea why that was special [:w]).

buns - I upgraded Y to G in March and it appeared quite happily on 'My Bookings', even managed to get a nice top-deck seat [:)]

That is good news, and about times, it was stupid that the system couldn't do this before.

Hmmm, I may have been right, and I may have been wrong. Miles for me were posted automatically however for a colleague who upgraded using FlyingCo miles this did not happen.

I know this topic has been quiet for a bit, but just noticed it now.

I actually liked the fact it didn't automatically post. All it took was a quick call to get the miles.

And, ahem, err, I know someone, ahem, who upgraded from economy to UC using miles, and when 'they' called in to get the miles credited, they were accidentally credited with the miles and tier points as if they had originally had a PE ticket. Oops. No complaints there though. :)

Slinky - *probably* because Co. upgrades are space-available, so the booking is altered to flag this (they're not confirmed until check-in at the earliest).

I'd expect that one to be a more complex issue to solve. Standard, confirmed, upgrades auto-posting though - progress at last [y]

It seems this isn't working quite right in all cases as yet, as the paid S, upgraded to G, VS19 that I flew on Tuesday, hasn't accrued automatically, and will not accrue using the 'claim missing miles' function.

Sounds more like Slinky's experience was a fluke?

Neither me - had to call FC to get our miles for L to G!

I am ashamed to admit it, but it did happen, twice, and then never again [:#]

Apologies for resurrecting an old thread, but am new to the forum and thought this would be preferable to starting a whole new one...

But preiffer are you saying that all upgrades using FC miles run the risk of being downgraded at check-in or even the gate? If so, am glad I didn't know this before our flight to Vegas. I'd have been stressing right up until the plane landed stateside!

Preiffer was talking about Flying Co, not Flying Club. Any upgrades you do with miles in advance of your flight is a confirmed upgrade, and upgraded with miles tickets are not prioritised for downgrades.

Ahhhh, I see. I did wonder what the extra 'o' was about and thought it might have been a mis-key. Thanks for clarifying that and putting my weee mind at rest!
