As long as it's not the v-room [:0]

Of course! V-roomers wouldn't want any UC riff-raff in their lounge[:D]

Besides, I would not be able to meet the dress code; shell suits, football shirts(preferable Man Ure especislly if you've never been to Salford utd's ground) and tattos [:D][:D]

Mmmm. I've used the V-Room and enjoyed it. Never owned a shell suit, never owned a football shirt and don't have any tattoos. When I was there didn't see any of the former two and didn't feel the need to search for the latter.

I was thinking exactly the same thing, seems to refer to two different lounges; one for UC pax and one for Au card holders. Being as I qualify on both counts, perhaps I'll sample them both on the same day [:w]

I just want to know who's supplying my Virgin Red cocktail [:D]

I would presume that Upper Class pax using the V-Room will be offered complimentary drinks through some sort of discrete system[:D]

Those who visit the LGW Clubhouse on a regular basis will accept the time has come to give the place a facelift and a short sharp shock is perhaps the quickest way to do it.

Oh, exciting times ahead for us 'poor' LGW travellers [;)]. Wonder what the improvements will be. I always thought that the long and winding road ... [:o)] sorry, corridor, was an awful waste of space.

I wonder if they might make the whole place a little wider.

We are planning a trip in October, so it will be interesting to see the temp facilities, but I think another trip needs to be sorted for January to see the new investment. [y]

Excellent news for LGW [y][y][y]

Just thought i would share some info from today, i phoned premier team to see about changing my flight from LGW-MCO to LHR-MIA because it falls slap bang in the CH refurb.
Because the new UC sale has just started we changed our ticket for 97 each because miami is now cheaper in the sale and VA waived the ticket change fee[y][y]

Really pleased with the outcome because, not only do we get Vport but also the LHR CH and revivals too! all in all feeling quite good[:w]

cheers

well,
Fantastic service from the Upper Class booking section.
They are going to come back to me tomorrow regarding what services are being put on for UC VA passengers in the V-Room, however, they are saying that this is Virgin holidays lounge that they have made arrangements for us to use and she thinks thats it. (Update, just come back to me, they are going to make arrangements for UC pax to get free drinks) but all the services available to VH customers at 17 each will be available to us!

I understand that in the long term its going to mean a better lounge for Gatwick passengers, but I just get dissapointed that those of us flying in the closed period are being treated very badly and for many the first they will know about it is when they arrive at the airport to be directed alongside the hubdreds who have paid 17 for the entrance to the V room. (Obviously UC pax are not on the same level as Gold Card holders who are being directed to another lounge)

It is this lack of forethought by Virgin management, that without V-Flyer or accidentally finding the update on the Virgin website (after it had been announced to VH bookers!) many would not know and yes, it does feel like Virgin management don't give a damn about their UC pax who are flying out of Gatwick whilst this clubhouse is closed.
Certainly (and of course as it should be) they are treating Gold Card holders with a bit more respect than UC pax, they fly more and put more revenue into VA than those of us single trip per year bods, it just gives you the feeling that they feel you are worth no more than a Economy passenger who bought the flight via Virgin holidays and get the V-room for 17, or for many as part of the purchase and for free.

Life is too short. I really wouldn't lose sleep or get upset with it - the V:Room looks fine to me, and I recall there being an adults only section.

Not entirely sure why a separate lounge is being used for VS Au's though. The Clubhouse is getting a refurb, and VS have sorted out a replacement as far as I can see. They could do nothing, and just hand out xx food and drink vouchers for the terminal as I have seen done before.

As to advance notice, well it's hardly next week. They have plenty of time to notify people, and it's hardly mission critical.

Aren't perceptions strange?

I read the spiel from VS and thought that UC pax were (rightly) being better looked after than Golds who are booked in PE or Y.

Personally I think I would like to go into the V-Room rather than 'The Lounge' if I flew from LGW whilst the CH was shut.

Having said that, I agree with Richard - Life's too short, just make the most of the hand you are dealt. Moaning and groaning only makes you feel more bitter and twisted.[:D]

Put us in a comparable lounge, i.e a business lounge, Continental, Delta, any of them, even BA, anything but Chav Cafe.

Food and drink vouchers (which is probably how they will get round the drinks situation, Mmm, lovely choice diamond white or Fosters!)
The choice it seems of hot food is a bacon batch or a sausage batch, not exactly the Clubhouse level. give us vouchers to eat at least something with some style.

Sure, as I have said, for those of you who do occupy this board and fly gold card or UC many times a year its not seen as a problem, but for those of us who have saved hard for this 'luxury' its IS a slap in the face. If you were flying on your once a year trip at this time, you too would feel cheated.

I looked at the original postings about the V-Room on here and most of you agreed it caters to a different sort of pax to the Clubhouse, yet its supposed to be acceptable now for UC pax by Virgin management?
