Hi guys,

I'm switching from my VS Amex to an Amex Plat, in part due to the ridiculous efforts I have to go to to use miles and companion / upgrade vouchers effectively. Figured that converting MR points to BA miles then upgrading cheapo WT+ fares to Club World is likely to be a better use of miles for me, and will at least give more flexibility.

Anyway, this will create the hassle of having to find reward availability on VS/BA, then transferring the MR points. Can you put a hold on VS reward seats (specifically in Upper) for a few days like you can with most cash fares. I wouldn't like reward seats to disappear whilst I was waiting for points to move from one scheme to another.

Wrong forum, I know, but does anybody know the answer to the same question but for BA.

Thanks a lot,

Ben

Yes, VS will hold a reward seat (incl G's for UC rewards), usually for 24hrs but max 48hrs. If you are clever and a bit cheeky, they may then extend that by another 24hrs, but that is usually the max.

Have you looked at a BA PP Amex card? The companion flights are now valid for two years if you have this card. You can also combine two vouchers for travel for 4 of you with two travelling on the companion vouchers.
