BD have announced today that they will drop IAD from the end of the summer and suspend UVF for 7 weeks!

What is this airline doing??? They are hell bent on getting LHR slots but all the time they p*ss around at MAN its not helping them or there image! They put a 757 on IAD- loads are superb and increasing, with huge mail and cargo customers then they drop it!

Virgin Holidays cant be too happy about UVF being droped for the 'hurricane season'. If i was VH i would be very angry to be honest- they provide 90% of pax on the route and BD have gone and done this.

If i was VS i would get in there bloody quick- buy up some 330's (currently 3 sat empty at Hamburg) and use them on these routes. 340 pilots are able to fly 330 as well. Wonder how long before we see VH get fed up and ask VS to get up north and operate, BGI, ANU, UVF and LAS for them and not BD. Any thoughts?

Sounds like a great idea to me,it's saddened me so much to see such a once great airline being taken down the tubes in the way they have.

One thing though A330 use 2 engines not 4,kind of goes against the flow. There are however a load of 744's for sale or lease

Yeh i agree what was a superb airline 18 months ago- is really getting a bad repuatation not only for long haul services but also european services- with no business cabin offered anymore etc.

Many on other boards are saying- 'whats the phone number of SRB- make them VS and lets get this sorted!'

Looks that way to me,after switching to a leased 752 on the IAD runs I figured they were heading in the wrong direction.

On this note a lot of american carriers are now flying into smaller markets with 752's,any idea how they are doing, personly the though of being stuck in Y in one of those planes scares the %$#@ out of me

Quick VS, get G-VBEE back!!! Then pull the rest from the desert, fly them from MAN. Bring in cash then buy new 747's! ;)
Of course, my plan is not exactly economical...

Or just wait 12 months, then they'll be able to buy BD for as much as BA paid for Concorde... ;)

Fantastic idea ... and yes more 744s and not 346s :D

No. Please don't buy BD for 6 pence ... even then it's not worth the hastle ... 4 engines 4 long haul is a great motto and even better in practice!

Believe it or not- i think virgin already has an aircraft called little blue or something like that- but it flys for Virgin Blue.

Really BD need to sort it out- what kind of airline are they? I see they now even offer bmibaby fares from LHR! If i was them- i would sell off long haul to VS.

Hi,

Over on flyertalk it is reported that in the lounges they are replacing the small cans with ....1.5l bottles and bottles of water with water coolers. The problem being with the bottles beiong is that if the top is not on tight the bottle will go flat.
