Made my way to the Servisair Lounge. Asked about wifi as no computers in there - yes there is but it is not free for BA passengers. Facilities are ok, but rather poor for a BA related lounges....if only it had been a week later when the new Galleries would be open. Had soft and alcoholic drinks, cheese in pre-wrapped portions, biscuits, crisps, cake pieces pre-wrapped. Glad that I had eatend before getting to the airport!
Flight was 30 minutes delayed, but when we wandered to the gate, realised that it was an off stand depature.....one set of steps with 3 coaches to board. Late already, and then a passenger failed to make it, so we had to wait even longer to get their bag off! Left about an hour late in the end.
Service was good - post-flight drinks orders taken on the ground and served prompty. Meal service consisted of chicken with polenta, double chocolate mousse and cheese. Nice chianti with dinner.
Landed about 40 minutes late, off stand again. Luckily only had hand luggage, so no bags to wait for. They have some really cool immigration electronic passport readers - even if you are not pre-registered, it scans you passport and you then go through and get you photograph taken and it compares it to the one in your passport....very quick and so much easier than IRIS scanning in the UK.
Flight was ok, but the standard of facilities in Terminal 3 are awful and BA should be really ashamed!
