Hey

Can anyone out there tell me how many crew work on each flight at VS? Also does anyone know how these are split up between the cabins?

I seem to remember there's around 14 on each flight or something but in light of the recent changes I just wondered what it currently stands at. Also is there always 3 flight crew on each flight? Or does it depend?

Thanks for the info!!

I am fairly sure that on my recent round trip to MCO, the FSM's announcement was that there were 15 crew onboard (+ the FSM). Can't remember how they were split up over the cabins, but in Upper Class there seemed to be one crew member in the galley & one serving passengers, with extra help from the FSM.

On the flight deck, I an fairly sure that there are just 2 crew there on the shorter flights, i.e. East Coast USA / some caribbean flights.

Thanks James!

So that would be 16 crew and 2 flight crew to Orlando! Sounds about right! Hopefully someone will be able to do the breakdown and the A340 crew numbers!

Thanks

Err, can I ask - Why? Forgive me for being potentially paranoid, but since you started using V-Flyer you have asked question after question about VS Ops A lot of which could be construed as security sensitive.

You haven't joined the site as a member, so I can't PM you. So with mod hat on I am just curious as to why you are asking all of these questions.

Hey Nick

I'd really like to discuss this with you as there seems to have been a misunderstanding :S

I'd like to put your mind at rest and assure you my intentions are in no way malicious.

Thanks

All for good security, but this is hardly classified info and certainly not something virtually any member of the general public could gain, so long as they have a passport and the money for a flight.....

Hi Ryan,

Good for you; it's great to be passionate about something. I wouldn't worry about people being suspicious of your actions as they are way off mark.

Inkaboo - I find your postings niave in THE extreme.

In this current climate there is certainly nothing wrong with being cautious and questioning any and all motives - however innocent the original questions and thus answers may be. We should not mind being questioned - especially by a Moderator.

I share and applaud Nicks common sence questions and commend other V-Flyers to take a similar stance.

Regards,

I totally agree with you Hackneyguy! Can never be too careful but thank you for everyone including Nick in understanding my innocent intentions in this case.

Thanks again for everyones support! Happy Flying!

I will lock the topic, as you have requested Ryan.

Following our email exchange, a formal welcome to the site as a full member. [y]

For information of all, the security issues aside, there is a lot of apparently innocent information about the airline which Virgin consider to to be commercially sensitive.

We are very grateful to all VS staff who post on the site, but continually urge caution about what is posted. The last thing we want is for any more staff to get into trouble for posting things in public forums on the internet that upset the airline.
