I know this is a bit of a long shot but does anyone know if I can get ANZ lounge access flying PE, I am only *A Silver. Is there a paid access system?

We have ditched QF Y for ANZ PE (also very good fares and we couldn't face Y[}:)]) for our upcoming trip to the US.

If not are any of you lovely Vflyers leaving LAX on the evening of June 15th and would like to invite to cheeky chappies into the lounge as your pre-eminent guests?[^]

You won't be able to get access to the ANZ lounge on your PE tickets or Silver status, but I am sure there are paid lounges at LAX that you could get into to get away from the throng of the airport, Priority pass or http://www.loungepass.com should be able to help you out.

An American Express card used to be able to get you into the Northwest lounge Opposite ANZ lounge at LAX. However, it's a very poor version of a lounge... Duller than dry, 14 week old toast....

Also don't think you can get an invitation as a Virgin guest unless you are also travelling on Virgin.

By way of an update when flying with ANZ a day pass can be purchased for US$55 subject to space.

Worse than that - a doctors waiting room would be more preferable! I used the Priority Pass card to enter the NW lounge and really wish I hadn't bothered.
