Just used online check in for the first time and had a couple of questions:

Last year when i checked in the old fashioned way, i was given fast track through security - will i get given this again as ive printed my own boarding pass?

Also, when i go to the bag drop is there a separate area for PE customers - and if not then will there be anybody to put the PE tags on my bag. Dont want to spend hours at the other end waiting at baggage claim!

And if the bag drop is really busy, can i go to the PE checkin and just drop my bag off?

Thanks!

At LHR there is a bag drop at the PE end of the check in area. Not sure whether it's dedicated to PE though.

just go to the one with the shortest queue be it PE or bag drop, they should all have tags for your bags.

Don't worry about having the PE tags on, they do nothing to determine which bin your bags go in. It is all sorted by the bar codes on the baggage tags printed at the airport, not that it seems to work half the time.

If the bag drop desk is busy just use the normal PE desk, you can use either.

With regards to the boarding card, they will probably print you some card ones off anyway, the paper ones aren't the best and often don't work very well. When you drop your bags off just ask for the fast track sticker as you won't just be able to get through with your boarding card stating PE.

I think the tags may help abit, never flown or anything but given how dopey some baggage handlers are it may be easier for them to see a red or silver label rather than read their screen as to what can it goes in!

Jumping on the back of this thread.....
Is there any advantage of Twilight check in as opposed to OLCI?

We have always taken advantage of Twilight check in being located very close to LGW but wondered whether we should still do twilight or if we should do OLCI instead?

personally I'd use twighlight checkin, mainly based on the fact you have a person in front of you and not a computer!
