Just in the process of booking my domestic flights from MAN>LGW and then LHR>MAN with BA for the Vegas bash in November.

First thing was it took me a while to work out how to book an open-jaw fare on the BA web site. Finally worked out you just enter London as your destination and not the specific airport....but I digress.

The thing that struck me though was with the lowest price BA economy fares you no long earn Exec Club points [:(] Reasonable price though at £64.00 return.

If you should wish to book a fully flexable economy fare on the same route it's a silly £330 return however you do get Exec Club miles and lounge access.

On my recent return MAN>LGW BA flights I did earn 250 points for the return flight even though the fare was a lowest price fare.

Is this a new thing (in light of the BD changes) or has anyone experienced this before on BA, I know I havn't as I've always earnt Exec Club miles on domestic BA flights regardless of fare class[?]

Hi mitchja,

The cheapest BA fares do not earn executive club points ( required to move to Silver /Gold) but as far as I'm aware of you will earn 25% of the miles ( ie min 500*25%= 125miles for disc NCL-LHR each way).

you can get a more flexible H class fare by selecting the cheapest fare and then selectthe more flexible option. EDI-LHR is £217 but gets you 500 miles and 20tier points each way.

You get discounted miles put no tier points.
But when the flights are as cheap as ryanair and easyjet:D can you really complain. It is the same as the way you get no virgin tier points when flying economy domextic on bmi.
