I think Qatar also has an agreement. With BMI / Singapore, is it only if they are booked on a VS ticket?

For BMI, you have to have a gold Diamond Club card though.

From the BMI website:

I asked at the Clubhouse last week if the policy had changed regarding SQ passengers and they confirmed that their non status business and first passengers will no longer be admitted and will have to make use of the inferior SQ lounge.

Do VS gold still get BMI lounge access - isn't obvious and if not seems bit unfair that they are allowed clubhouse access

Yes, but only on international BMI flights and I think only from LHR as well.
