I have a reward ticket on VS20 (through Continental as a code-share) for Monday. 29/6.

Continental will not (and has never, since I booked the ticket) let me book seats before I do check-in. The current seat map only shows 2 open seats, but the seat maps on both CO and VS are 'missing' some rows (1, 2, 6, 7, 12, 14, 20,21).

Does anyone have experience with this issue? Should I be worried that we will not get UC seats? For those of you who have access to load information, could you let me whether there are more than available seats?

This is a trip for my partner's 50th (spending a week in Cornwall, where his family left for the US in the 1820's), and I really don't want to get bumped down.

Thanks

George

George, the rows you mention are only available for selection when online check-in opens. They cannot be preselected earlier. Row 6 is considered an exit seat and is only assigned at the airport.

If you ask Continental for the Virgin PNR, you should be able to do online check-in - do so as soon as they open, and you will be able to access the seats you mentioned. If two of you are traveling, you might enjoy row 12, though I like upstairs for the night flight on the 747.

Enjoy the trip!

Just to add that only 60% of seats are available for pre-selection. The rest, apart from bulkheads and exit rows, become available at OLCI

Thanks so much. That explains a lot.
