VA laying off upto 600 staff !

Just saw on BBC news 24 VA cutting it's winter Schedule and laying off upto 600 staff. [n]

How terrible for them I hope they can can all find another job.

This is just a re-hash of an old news story in my view. The only new news today is the winter timetable cuts.

It is clear that the airline is a long way from being out of the woods, as far as the recession is concerned.

I just hope that the cuts are enough to keep them afloat.

It is very sad, but of course this is Virgin making sure it is financially viable to continue to operate over this economic recession. I hope as SRB said it will mean a lot less than 600 jobs. The winter scheduling is hardly a surprise and I think a good idea plus will hopefully mean spare aircraft in the event of problems.

Better safe than sorry for now. Although i hope there is more for staff morale than more job losses and reductions.
