The flight number looks odd - it indicated to me that it's a code share.
Sure enough, a Google Search of the flight number indicates that it's operated by Shuttle America, which in turn gets it's aircraft from Republic Airways, who use Embraer / Canadair jets.

Further investigation indicates that it will be an Embraer 170.

Thanks for that, strangely that leg of my trip shows up as PE (W) on the 'Manage My Booking' section of the VS site, while the rest of the trip is Economy (as I booked it), I didn't even know those planes had any distinction other than maybe Econ or First (or why I'm booked as it!)

I think the VS 'my booking' page gets confused by other airline's fare codes for economy. For example a flight from Tamapa - JFK with AA we are on has been booked in S class which is a PE fare for VS but economy for AA.

Its not failproof, but often an easy way to chek the intended aircraft is to do a dummy booking on Expedia as they usually always show the aircraft type. Changes can happen last minute according to loads of course.

Thanks,
Sarah

It also gets confused with other airline codes - my flight on MH with a code share CZ ticket was displayed on My Booking as bmi!

I tried a dummy booking on the UA site and using the 'flight info' tab it says its a 2 class (econ and first) Embraer 170 operated bu United Express / Shuttle America.

United Express flying is contracted out to regional airlines that normally do not have there own flights but serve as express carriers for mainline carriers.

These E170s have First, Econ Plus and Econ.
