Anyone got any pointers as to how we add the kids membership numbers to our existing booking to make sure we get their miles claimed?

These are the cards issued to GC flyer members children rather than their own memberships as they are very young.

The website says it cannot register 002 cards but how do we make sure the miles are allocated now they have these cards?

thanks

Just hand over their FC cards at check-in. That's what I used to do with my sister ans always got her miles.

Thanks,
Sarah

what happens to these cards if you lose Gold?
Do they just become invalid? and any miles accrued added into the main card holders account

There isn't really a 'child's account' where miles are accrued; any miles earned are credited directly to the Au cardholder's account. I found I needed to send an email to FC after each flight to let them know we'd had Tizer in tow, and the miles were then very promptly popped into my account.

As for Tizer keeping Red status now that I'm back down to Ag - not a chance (although I note there's no expiry date on her card...).

thanks for that - would be a lot easier if the website was able to accept their numbers or else put our card numbers with their booking to get the miles allocated rather than then having to contact the FC after our return or carrying the cards with on to check in with.

MDV - you're right there seems to be no expiry date on their cards, but obviously to claim their miles we must remain Au,if we dropped to Silver they cannot be claimed.

Which has always annoyed me! - we pay for the kids tickets, why cant we get miles - until we have an Au account, which most people will never get as its hard to achieve so much flying for the regular traveller ...... but thats a whole new thread [:D]

Tizer has taken 10 UC flights as a child (as opposed to as an infant) since she turned two. If she were an adult, she'd be Ag by now; as it is, with me losing Au, she now earns diddly-squat.

I've long been a believer that kids should be allowed - at very least - a Red account. OK, so some will argue that they only pay 75% of an adult fare, but I'd be more than happy if she earnt 75% of the mileage. I know it's not going to happen, but the miles accrued for us during my Au year have helped us a lot (hence MCO this autumn).

Absolutely agree, they have a seat like everyone else. O.k. they don't form part of any decision process in choosing VS, but neither do 99% of Teenagers who are allowed a card. Miles should be available in some shape or form. Others do this, Continental for instance.
If VS are throwing Ag cards around willy-nilly, how about letting those who use/ and paid for a seat like everyone else be part of the scheme, even if its on reduced miles; especially frustrating when they are sat in premium cabins- An insult to the fee-paying parents.

It begs the question why this restriction was brought in the first place..?
