Qantas have launched the ashes offer '09, which means you can travel LON-SYD via SIN (no stopovers permitted)for a return fare of only 215.(includes taxes).[y]

It's based on the Australian first innings score in the 2nd test, however availibitly is limited with the amount of seats available being only 425 (based on the England score, shame the aussies didn't score less and we score more but hey)

Booking starts @ 0800hrs BST 21/07/09 until 24/07/09 or until the seats run out, limited to 2 seats per reservation.

Travel period is between 07/08/08-22/09/09. (too limited for us [n])

I guess they will go very quickly but someone might be able to bag a bargain.

Anyone know how you book this?

When VS did something similar the other year (I fly to SYD return including 2 stop-overs for 360) they put on a special telephone number.

I did think about it. Just the thought of all that time in an Y seat makes me go light-headed. Now, if it had been J or F... Perhaps even a stop-off in SIN.

Whilst i too wouldn't fancy the whole trip in Y, if you could get on the A380 service then that would be fine for me. I did LON-SIN and back on it in Y and it was fine. Also the other selling point is the cheapest fare for that period is currently nearly 1200 in Y so a big big saving could help to soften the blow.[:)]

Just checked and on VS at this time of year they are asking 851.50 (557 fare + 294.50 in tax alone)

If this had have been on VS I've have just done it for a miles/TP run. Not going to bother on BA or QF though.

Are you being serious ??

You really would sit all those hours in Econ for a few airmiles and tier points [:?]

Can I be rude and ask why ?

and my answer would be why not?

8 TP's and at least 10K miles for 215. I've no hang ups or issues about flying economy either.

I'll be there on Tuesday contributing to the website crash [;)]

Always wanted to go to OZ and a long weekend over the Bank Holiday in August at that price would be too tempting an offer to miss.

How did you get on, I notice that the website states that all flights were sold by 08:10 (not really that surprising!)

A mate of mine tried for himself and his misses, but had no luck, hope you faired better.
